Study of Optical Propagation in Hybrid Periodic/Quasiregular Structures Based on Porous Silicon
In this work we report the propagation of the light waves within Bragg-Fibonacci (BM-FN) hybrid structures and the appearance of photonic bandgaps in the reflectance spec-trum of these systems, which are studied theoretically with the use of oblique incidence transfer matrix technique. In all cases, the discussion is made regarding the possible application of these structures as photonic quasicrystals. For the simulation we have adopted the typical parameters of a Porous-Silicon dielectric multilayer. It is found that a hybrid configuration of the type BM-FN-BM is a promising candidate for resonant microcavities with strong mode localization.
