Response Based Wide Area Load Shedding Control System
In this paper, a response based wide area load shedding system is proposed for voltage stability control. Because of the fast measurements of power grid dynamics by Phasor Measurement Units (PMUs), the proposed system has the close loop control capability and contingency-free characteristics, which means it not only can deal with the predicted contingencies, but also the unexpected contingencies. The sensitivity based load-shedding algorithm is also proposed and validated by simulation.
