A Simplified Feeder Automation Evaluation Tool and The Selection of the Corresponding Indicators
A tool to evaluate a feeder automation network is needed in practice. The tool should be designed only showing some simpler indicators and should summarize the indicators to a financial indicator so that one can tell the merits of a given feeder automation network directly. Two groups of indicators and a summarized indicator are proposed to fulfill such purposes. One group is financial indicators. The other group is reliability indicators. The summarized indicator, called Whole Life Cost per year (WLCy) in this paper, is based on the two groups of indicators and is shown in money. It can show the basic concept of feeder automation: invest and outputs. It is helpful for the engineers to understand the valuable feeder automation and to compare different feeder automation configurations. Optimization algorithms and topological algorithms are applied in the tool.
