Antiozidant Activity of Albumin Binding Salphen Schiff-base Cobalt Complezes
1.Introduction Schiff-base metal complexes have been investigated as effective scavengers of ROSs, acting as antioxidants1 However, many Schiff-base metal complexes are insoluble, which limited their application. Serum albumins are the major soluble proteins in the circulatory system. The most outstanding property of albumins is their ability to bind reversibly endogenous and exogenous compounds2. Here, Salphen Schiff base Co complexes was bound into BSA, which afforded water soluble biopolymer supported Salphen Schiff base metal complexes. Their activities for scavenging the free radical were investigated.
