Control of Anion-triggered Deprotonation of Simple Aromatic Acids
1.Introduction Allosterism is one of the most characteristic features of bio-function showing nonlinear response to outer stimuli. To accomplish the phenomenon, nature utilizes quite a huge multiple molecular systems, such as the tetramer of heme protein to control the affinity toward oxygen. In order to mimic such allosterism, much effort has been done into the design and syntheses of artificial model systems using very massive molecules. On the other hand, anions are important chemical species in the wide fields ranging from chemistry, pharmacy, biology, and environmental science,2 while little is known about the artificial system exhibiting the allosteric behavior to anion concentration.
