Phosphole-Based Materials:Synthesis,Photophysical Properties and Application

1.Introduction π-Conjugated systems containing a main group element have attracted considerable interest.Phosphole is an interesting building block for the construction of conjugated systems,where an interaction between the butadiene π* orbital and the low-lying σ*(P-R) orbital takes place in the ring.In addition, the central phosphorus atom allows tuning the electronic properties of the materials by e.g.oxidation and coordination to a metal.This paper reports synthesis and properties of phosphole-based materials.
