Polymetalacrylates as a new generation of local action hemostatics combining effective stop-bleeding,antimicrobial,wound-and burn-healing effects
1.Introduction In 1970s, the original local action hemostatie FERACRYL combining stop-bleeding, antimicrobial, wound-healing and analgesic actions has been developed and patented at the Irkutsk Institute of Organic Chemistry, Siberian Branch, USSR Academy of Sciences 1-4. Afterwards its technological methods has been elaborated and its industrial large-scale production has been realized successfully, so it has been used in many countries (as HEMOLOCK in some places). FERACRYL is incomplete ferric salt of polyacrylie acid (PAA) with iron content of 2.5% Fe2+ and Fe3+. It has been established that bemostatic effect of FERACRYL and stability of the clot formed by its interaction with blood plasma proteins increases with the growth of the iron content in it. We have failed to increase the iron content more then 2.5%.
