Research on Kinetics of Carbozylic Acid Terpolymer High Performance Water-reducing Agent
1.Introduction Polycarboxylate-based superplasticizers are recognized as important admixtures for use in modem concrete technology1. They allow to produce a highly flowable concrete or to reduce the water/cement ratio of concrete, resulting in higher compressive strength. Hence the potential applications of polycarboxylate superplasticizer and its derivative have aroused researchers great interest in all over the world2. However, few researches were reported on kinetics of polycarboxylate superplasticizert3-4 which directly relate to the process of producing. Herein we reported the kinetic behavior of high performance Water-reducing agent poly(Man-AA-SAS). Polycarboxylate superplasticizer was prepared by radical copolymerization of maleic anhydride (Man), acrylic acid (AA) and sodium allylsulfonate(SAS) while ammonium persulfate as initiator. The factors of reaction temperature, initiator concentration, monomers concentration were investigated respectively in this research. The monomers Man, AA and SAS (fixed concentration and feed ratio), the initiator and solvent were added into a 250mL four necked flask equipped with a gas supply, a thermometer and a condenser. After purging with N2 for 30 rain, the reactor was placed in an oil bath at 80℃.
