Polymeric Membrane Sensors Based on Mnomethozypoly(ethylene glycol)-grafted-Chitosan (mPEG-g-CS) Film Electrode For Elective Iodide Determination
1.Introduction Numerous analytical methods have been reported for its determination at low concentration levels. Potentiometric sensors offer an inexpensive and convenientmethod for fast analysis with high sensitivity and selectivity.Ion elective electrodes have emerged as one of the most promising tools for direct determination of various species. In view of such advantages, efforts have been made to make selective sensors for different anions. However, most of these efforts have not been very fruitful. The developed sensors posses narrow working concentration range and suffer serious interference from anions just like SCN-,CN-,CkO4-. In order to have selective sensor for iodide, the most important requirement is to have an ionophore in the sensor which show high affinity towards iodide ion and poor for other anions. Recently, Mnomethoxypoly(ethylene glycol)-grafied-Chitosan (mPEG-g-CS) have also been explored as ionophores in the construction of ion-selective electrodes for iodide.
