3-Methozyimino 2-phenyl-3H-indoles Versatile Ligands for Platinum(Ⅱ)
1.Introduction Conjugated organic molecules have attracted great interest since long ago due to their chemical, physical and/or optical properties. Among the variety of compounds of this type described so far those containing one or more heteroatoms with good donor abilities (N, O,P, S) are specially attractive since the binding of a transition metal to the heteroatom offers possibilities for tuning their properties which may be affected not only by the nature of the transition metal, its oxidation state or the remaining ligands bound to it, but also, by the mode of binding of the ligand to the metallic atom. Furthermore, platinum(Ⅱ) complexes containing N, (C,N)-, (C,N,X)-or (X,C,X)-(X=N, C, S, P) donor conjugated organic ligand have attracted tremendous attention due to their properties and applications in a wide variety of areas including, Homogeneous Catalysis, Biomedicine and Material Sciences1,2, In addition, the existence of a (Pt-C) bond in cycloplatinated complexes makes them specially attractive in view of their utility in synthesis 2. For ligands containing two or more (C-H) bonds susceptible to metallate the regioselectivity of the eyclometallation process is a crucial step in view of their use as precursors in organic or organometallic synthesis.
