Controls of Molecular Transport in Mesoporous Materials by Responsive Substituents
1.Introduction Directed control of molecular transport is one of the most important technologies of current chemistry. Artificially-synthesized systems to control molecular transport will provide a number of valuable applications in molecular and nano science. Minute pore voids fabricated by ordered porous matrices are potent components to dominate the movements and behaviors of guest molecules contained inside, bringing some fimctional systems that control molecular transport in different manners by the installations of suitable molecular mechanics. Even if the motions of molecular machines thus incorporated are in nanometer level, they are sufficient to rule molecular diffusion in nano pore voids. On the other hand, the operation ranges of molecular motions are too limited in vast bulk space to control the behaviors of guest molecules.
