Template-Free Synthesis of Hollow Fluorapatite Hezagonal Nanoprisms

1.Introduction Hollow nanostructures have emerged as intriguing materials for diverse applications including drug delivery, bioencapsulation, medical diagnostics, catalysis, plasmonics, and composite electronic and structural materials1. In general, the commonly synthetic one-dimensional (ID) hollow nanostructures are nanocubes, which always have two open ends 2. The fabrication of ID hollow nanostructure with an interior space and two closed ends is rare 3. Most of the synthetic strategies for hollow structure are using the surfactant, polymers, and other additive as the templates4. These template methods always require complicated synthetic procedures, resulting in high cost and a time-consuming synthesis process 5. Here, we report an example of template-free synthesis of ID hollow Fluorapatite (FHAp) hexagonal nanoprisms by a facile method. As far as we know, it is the first report on the preparation of ID hollow apatites nanostructure.
