Study on pH Sensitivity of a Novel Chitosan Derivative Electrodeposition Film by Electrochemical Method

1.Introduction The stimuli-sensitive system thatresponds to the changes of environmental condition such as temperature, pH, chemical species, electrical pulses, etc. Can be effectively applied to many biomedical fields such as drug delivery system and bioseparation process. Therefore, the design of effective stimuli-sensitive system promises the progress in a great many biomedical fields 1. Chitosan (CS) is a copolymer of D-glucosamine and Nacetylglucosamine derived from naturally abundant chitin, which was reported a potentially useful pharmaceutical material owing to its non-toxicity, high biocompatibility and non-antigenicity that offer advantages for possible clinical uses 2, as a pH-sensitive hydrogel, swells under acidic conditions due to protonation of their free amino groups is currently receiving a great deal of interest for medical and pharmaceutical applications that utilize chitosan in various chemical and physical gel forms 3.
