Synthesis,Characterization of Fe3O4 Porous Nanorods and Its Application For Water Treatment

1.Introduction One-dimensional (1D) nanomaterials have been a focal area of intensive researches because of the unique chemical and physical properties and the promising application both in mesoscopic physics and nanoscale device fabrication.1-2 Recently,considerable attentions has been payed to iron oxides due to their potential application such as pigment electrophotographic developer,recording material, and water treatment.Many methods has been employed to synthesize Fe3O4 nanorods such as reduction method,coprecipitation method, microwave hydrothermal synthesis, and discharge method.3-5 Herein we reported a facile and simple method to synthesis Fe3O4 porous nanorods using FeCl3-6H2O,urea, and glucose under hydrothermal condition.The formation mechanism of the pore nanorod structure were discussed.The as-prepared iron oxide nanomaterials showed an excellent ability to remove organic pollutants in water.
