Prepared CoSPc/TiO2/float Pearls at Low Temperature and Its Photocatalytic Activity under Visible Light
1.Introduction Presently, titanium dioxide is the most extensively used photocatalyst, as it is easily available, stable to chemic corrosion and photo corrosion, cheap, nontoxic, and high photocatalytic activity. It has been widely employed in the treatment of waste water and air1. However, the width of the band gap of TiO2 (3.2eV), for the photocatalytic activation of TiO2 (anatase), only the radiation having wavelengths shorter than 400 nm can be absorbed by TiO2 giving rise to the generation of electron-hole pairs, during photocatalytic processes photoinduced electrons and holes can easily reduce. In order to overcome this disadvantage, the approaches of compound semiconductor, doping ion, and photosensitive dye were employed to improve absorbency of modifying photocatalyst and extending the range of visible iight2-4, it was important means to use photosensitize for extending the excitated wavelength.
