Analyses of Correlation Factors about Characters of Growing, Fruiting and Formation of Production of Chestnut

Water content of roots, shoots and leaves in chestnut changed with moisture content of soil. Relative growing development of height and diameter of stems of seedlings displayed coupling with dynamic changes of contents of N, P, and K. Fruit bearing positively correlated with number, development status and thickness of bearing base shoots. Ratio of carbon to nitrogen (C/N) displayed significant correlation with number of female flower and fruit bearing. Thickness of bearing base shoots correlated with chestnut involucres. P seemed important function in differentiation of female flowers and had more effects on fruit bearing. Trends of increase of GA1+3, IPA, GA1+3+IPA/ABA and decrease of ABA were consistent with development of normal ovary. Thickness of bearing base shoots, number of fruiting shoots from bearing base shoots, involucres of fruiting shoots and production by projection area of canopy were decisive components for production. Amount of fruiting shoots and strong bearing bases shoots per unit of canopy acreage, ratio of number of leaves to fruits became main factors for production. Production were significantly correlated with number of female flowers, which had strong relationship with thickness of bearing base shoots and fruiting shoots, number of fruiting shoots and involucres. The facts above mentioned can provide references and guidance for chestnut cultivation and genetic breeding.
