Comparison of Promoter Sequences in the Eukaryotic Ribosomal Protein Genes
We did a comparative analysis for the sequence structures and characteristics of the ribosomal protein (RP) genes in fruitfly, mouse and human. The results show that the sequence structures of RP genes are similar in mouse and human but quite different from that in fruitfly. However the occurrence frequencies of dinucleotides, the usages of tetranucleotides and the lengths of the first introns in PR genes of mouse and human have some differences. These results will be helpful to understand the laws of transcriptional regulation of eukaryotic RP genes.
