Investigation on the Properties of Group Ⅱ Introns for Potential Gene Therapy
Group Ⅱ introns, found in bacterial genones and organelles of eukaryotes, are potential tools in genetic engineering and genomic analysis. The new properties of group Ⅱ introns were first explored by ionizing radiation giving rise to multiple cellular and biological effects. Experimental results showed that group Ⅱ introns can be effective vectors in gene therapy.
