A Robust Algorithm for Faster SAR Measurement in the 30 – 6000 MHz Frequency Range
An algorithm to quickly estimate the measured specific absorption rate (SAR) from planar scans is presented. This algorithm results in a savings in measurement time of up to 70%. Previously published work from the authors has been extended here to cover the entire frequency range of 30 MHz - 6 GHz specified in draft international standards. SAR data have been collected on real cellular phones to demonstrate that the previous algorithm is accurate. Numerical electromagnetic simulations were conducted in order to extend the frequency range of the algorithm. It is shown that the new algorithm gives similar results to the previous algorithm in the 150 - 2450 MHz frequency range, but it performs much better in the extended frequency range.
