Coherence resonance in a noise-driven nonlinear integrate-and-fire model
The phenomenon of coherence resonance (CR) in the nonlinear integrate-and-fire neuronal models (NIF) driven by the multiplicative colored noise(the voltage-gated channel noise) and the additive white noise(the synaptic noise). By using the method of colored noise approximation and the adiabatic approximation theory, the analytic expression of the coefficient of variation(CV) and the probability distribution of the first fire is obtained. It is shown that the CV and probability distribution of the first fire is a non-montonic function of intensities of the multiplication colored noise and the additive white noise and correlation time of the multiplicative colored noise. Furthermore the spontaneous fire of neuron can occur when a appropriate noise parameter is chosen, then the phenomenon of coherence resonance can occur. This clarifies the conditions under which specific noise induced changes occur in neurons, and the conclusion is useful for study of nerve dynamics in the condition of noise.
