Neural signal recording and transmission system with 3-D silicon microelectrode arrays
In this paper, we present a new kind of neural signal recording and stimulating system consisting of active microelectrode arrays, signal conditioning circuits and user interface. The system is designed to record from up to 32 sites of nervous system in 3-D dimension with good signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and DC offset stabilization, which gives neurophysiologists better tools to understand neural action and the human beings cognizance process. The method of stimulate nerves with microelectrode can cure some difficult symptoms like infantile paralysis, parkinsonism and epilepsy. The rat experiment has done and the acquired signal is ideal. This proves the feasibility of the system.
