Study on the Inhibitive Potential of PAM Against Water Bodies Eutrophication

The intraannual distribution and interannual variation of total nitrogen (TN), total phosphorus (TP), chlorophyll a (chla), permanganate index (CODMn) and transparency (SD) measured at five major monitoring points in Changshouhu Lake area indicate that the water body eutrophication phenomenon there has the tendency to exacerbate. At the same time, the soil erosion and nutrition loss tests with and without PAM treatment carried out at Linfeng Town inside Changshouhu Lake area indicate that PAM can effectively inhibit soil and soil nutrition loss, and compared with control plots where no PAM is applied, the treatment with PAM decreases the degree of soil erosion, nitrogen loss and phosphorus loss for 46.1%, 24.3% and 21.6% respectively. Finally, through the comparison between the estimated comprehensive nutritional index under extended PAM application conditions and the calculated index under actually measured conditions, we concluded that PAM has strong inhibitive potential against eutrophication of water bodies. However, the collection of data needs further improvement, and the research to PAM under different spatial scales should be carried out, so as to better quantify and evaluate the control effect of PAM on water bodies eutrophication.
