Arsenic Captured from Drinking Water with Fe-Zr Adsorbents
the object of this study was to develop some iron (Ⅲ+Ⅱ) based oxide adsorbents for arsenic removal. Some Fe-Zr complex hydroxide adsorbents were prepared and their As adsorption capacity were evaluated. Results showed that all the new materials are superior to activated alumina in adsorption capacity. While taking the raw material cost for consideration, an optimum Fe/Zr molar ratio of 8/1 was set. The synthesis pH and drying temperature influence adsorbents performance distinctly, and their optimal range were studied. Results indicate this synthesis method can give out a novel effective adsorbent for arsenic removal from drinking water.
