Investigation on COS Hydrolysis over TiO2 Alumina Catalyst
The impetus to reduce the emission of sulfur-containing compounds into the environment has become increasingly important in recent years. COS as the main organic sulfur compounds from synthesis gas can be removed by catalytic hydrolysis. A serious of catalyst samples for COS hydrolysis was prepared by dry-mixing technique using K2CO3 as a active component mixing TiO2 with pseudo-boehmite. The property of K2CO3/TiO2-Al2O3 catalyst for COS hydrolysis is characterized by activity evaluation, FT-IR and surface basicity measurement. It is found that the activity of COS hydrolysis have not been influenced by additive of TiO2 over alumina catalyst. But the rate of H2S desorption from the catalyst surface have increased, thus to reduce the reaction of adsorbed H2S on surface with O2, the K2CO3/TiO2-Al2O3 catalyst has ability of anti-sulfur poisoning.
