A Numerical Simulation for Predicting Influence of Skew Gas Distribution in Electrostatic Precipitations upon Dust Loading
The electrostatic precipitator (ESP) numerical model developed by author does a better job of qualitative prediction about the influence of flow pattern in electrostatics precipitators upon particle re-entrainment. The results show that the higher efficiencies can be achieved by using some special non-uniform inlet and outlet gas velocity distribution than that of uniform gas velocity distribution. In present paper, the numerical model is applied to determine the dust loading in response to the variations in gas velocity distributions across the full scale ESP entrance and exit. It examines how the skew gas distribution affects dust loading, and gives a physical explanation which the performance is improved when some special non-uniform gas velocity distribution are used at both the inlet & the outlet face of electrostatics precipitator.
