Health Risk Assessment of Carbon Tetrachloride Contamination on Human in a Water Supply Source
In a northern city of China the groundwater has been contaminated by carbon tetrachloride. And the carbon tetrachloride can long stand in groundwater for many years, and pose threat to human health. In this paper the health risk caused by intake from drinking water and by dermal contact with shower water was estimated. The results show that the areas neighboring the extramural well have a higher health risk, and the risk index at the well X-49 is maximum which the range of non-carcinogenic index is 0.73-8.02 and carcinogenic index is 3.80×10-5-4.17×10-4, the health risk of areas neighboring the incity well is lower than the extramural well, but both the risk index of them are whole to present to downtrend.
