A comparative study of high-resolution central scheme for solving the 2D shallow water equations
The performance of the nonoscillatory central difference scheme with different limiters is investigated for solving the two-dimensional shallow water equations in this paper. The methods are applied to simulating two typical problems of shallow water equations, i.e. circular dam-break problem and shock focusing problem. The results show that there are differences in numerical performance when applying different limiters. An optimum-selected limiter is determined through analysis. The method using the optimum-selected limiter can provide a good numerical method for approximating the twodimensional shallow water equations.
