Hydrogen Bonded Supra Molecular Structure as studied by Positron Annihilation Spectroscopy

Hydrogen bonding interactions are crucial in establishing molecular networks and they are important indeed in biology, liquid crystalline systems and also in solid sate. While dimerization and multimerization via hydrogen bonding in carboxylic groups are found in solution exclusively, aromatic compounds with carboxylic groups contribute to the formation of layered crystal structure in the solid state. One such example is presented.
