Characterization of biomembrane phase transformation and microstructural characteristics by PALS

In this work PALS was applied for characterizing the gel-fluid-phase transformation of lipid bilayer membrane. For preliminary measurements, the lifetime of o-Ps was measured in aqueous lipid multilayer vesicles at room temperature. Measurements at room temperature were also performed on the effect of cholesterol concentration on lipid membrane free volume.
