Study of the defect formation mechanism of helium in titanium by positron annihilation lifetime

In this paper, positron lifetime annihilation (PAL) techniques will be carried out to investigate the defect formation mechanism of helium in titanium. First, positron annihilation lifetime (PAL) spectroscopy will be used to study the behaviour of helium agglomeration, helium bubble formation in titanium under various conditions of helium-implantation. Moreover, their evolutive behavoiour in different processes of annealing will also be studied. Meanwhile, in order to find out the factors of affecting the growth and size of helium clusters, kinetic Monte Carlo simulation will be further carried out to study the growth of helium cluster, based on the simulation of helium behaviour in titanium crystals using molecular dynamics1,2.
