SELECTIVE LASER MELTING OF TI-NI ALLOY

The influence of forming conditions in selective laser melting process is studied theoretically and experimentally. Ti-Ni alloy powders and Ti-Ni mixed powders have been applied. The process optimization is realized with a description of processing parameters including laser powder, scanning speed and scanning strategy. Specimens are analyzed by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscope and metalloscope. The results show that a complete metallurgical bonding is obtained. TiNi phase has been found in the sample of Ti-Ni alloy powders, while TiNi and Ti2Ni for mixed powders.
