INVESTIGATION IN LASER COLORFUL MARKING IN STAINLESS STEEL PLATE AND TI PLATE BY PULSED FIBER LASER

Laser colorful marking in metal is a novel marking technology and can be used in wide field such as brand logos, artworks, decorations and forgery resistance. This paper introduces a method of marking colorful area in stainless steel by using pulsed fiber laser. Additionally galvanometer and f-theta lens have been employed in delivering and focusing laser beam. Various colorful area expressions have been attempted. Morphological characteristics and component in samples with various colorful areas have been investigated through SEM and XRD. Marking colorful area in metal by laser related to process of metal heat treatment are discussed. It makes possible to create more other color area in other metals through optimizing process parameters by laser marking.
