Electromagnetic Radiation from Ingested Sources in the Human Intestine at the Frequency of 2.4GHz

The radiation effects and the link performance of the 2.4 GHz ingested wireless devices in the realistic human body model are studied by using the finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method. Simulations are carried out for three orientations at seven source positions. Results show that all the temperature-rises, peaks of Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) and averaged SARs inside the realistic human body exposed to a realistic 2.4 GHz capsule antenna model are under the safety limits when the delivered power is no more than 26.16mW, although its radiation effect and link performance greatly depend on the orientation and position.
