Dimensions of the Spectrum of Elementary Ezcitations in Heterostructures Mimicking a DNA Sequence

In the few recent years some authors have claimed the relationship or similarities between the DNA sequences and the man-made quasiregular heterostructures. In order to clarify this connection we have calculated the electromagnetic modes in heterostructures mimicking DNA sequences. Our results indicate that, at least in the analyzed DNA sequences, no similarities can be sustained as the dimension of the spectrum is equal to one. However, some peculiarities of the box-counting curves indicate that the research must continue in this direction.
