Design of Dual-linearly-polarized Microstrip Array with CRLT as Feed Line

A novel dual-linearly-polarization microstrip antenna array with series fed configuration is presented. Dual-linearly-polarization is excited by upper side-feeding and lower aperture-coupled feeding. Meanwhile, the series-feeding configuration is realized by composite Right/Left-handed transmission line. Compared with the traditional design, this array is of simple structure, small area. A design of dual-linearly-polarization microstrip antenna array with CRLH-TL is presented. The upper microstrip series side-feeding and the lower aperture coupling networks are respectively used to excite the vertical and horizon polarization of the antenna elements. Because of the character of LH-TL, the CRLH-TL is able to eliminate the phase delay of effectromagnetic wave along the lower feed line 1. So employing the CRLH-TL in the lower feeding network can realize the excitation of every radiation element without the phase difference. As the result shows, the designed array possesses such advantages as good cross-polarization level, simple structure, small area, high array efficiency and etc.
