Shielding Design for Power Frequency Magnetic Field Produced by Substations

Some sensitive devices located upon substations may be interfered by the magnetic field caused by the transformers, cables and buses. Shielding is necessary in some cases to overcome this effectromagnetic interference. The shielding design for a substation is presented in this paper, which is based on the calculation of magnetic field and shielding effectiveness. As a result, the best shielding effectiveness can reach 98.3%, and the value of the magnetic field in the location of the sensitive devices can be reduced to meet the demand of the effectromagnetic environment.
