Comparing the Multipole Series and Inhomogenenous Plane-wave Approaches in Broadband MLFMA

In the broadband multilevel fast multipole algorithm (MLFMA) on the sub-wavelength division levels either the multipole series or inhomogeneous plane-wave expansions in the field representations can be used. The merits and drawbacks of both approaches are discussed and remedies proposed.
