A Theoretical Study of the Chirped and Apodized Photonic Crystals
The photonic crystals with two-dimensional chirped structure and with apodized structure were analysed, and their transmission characteristics were studied by FDTD method and PML technique. The photonic band gap can be made wider with different chirped coefficient or apodized function. This can provide an effective method for controlling the photonic band gap in the photonic crystal applications.
