Preparation of Single-component Polymer Modified Mortar Used in Concrete Patching and Strengthening
This paper deals with the preparation of a kind of single-component polymer modified mortar (PMM), which aims at concrete patching and strengthening in repair works of concrete.The PMM in this study is mainly modified by redispersible polymer powder of ethylene and vinyl acetate copolymer, on the basis of certain mixture proportion. The influences of different polymer to cement ratio on physical and mechanical properties of PMM were studied systematically, and subsequent result showed that the PMM would have best cost/performance ratio when the dosage of EVA was 2% with regard to cement weight.Moreover, the compressive strength, flexural strength, compressive strength to flexural strength ratio (C/F),adhesive strength, and shrinkage were further studied at designed age.Finally, a kind of single-component PMM was prepared with high early strength, high flexural strength, low compressive strength to flexural strength ratio, excellent adhesive strength, and good anti-cracking ability. This PMM have already gained successful application in Henan Province of China.
