Research on Polymer Modified Mortar for Repairing Road
The property of the rapid repair mortar is studied because of the wide application of repairing damaged road surface in busy transportation. The influence of the application of redispersible polymer powder and water reducer on the rapid-repair mortar was tested, while the XRD and SEM test of the polymer powder was analyzed to observe the hydrogen products and microstructure of the rapid repair mortar. The flexibility can be enhanced obviously with the incorporation of polymer powder, meanwhile, the adhesive strength to the repairing surface is increased, but the mechanical strength is decreased. The redispersible polymer powder forms polymer film along the interface between the rapid repair mortar and the old concrete quickly, so the adhesion strength is enhanced, and the hydration process isnt affected. Water reducer agent is the guarantee for the rapid repair mortar to gain the excellent workability and strength. The suitable kind of water reducer can enhance the compressive strength of the rapid repair mortar at different ages obviously, and PCE is relatively better.
