Influence of Polymer on Properties of Mized Lightweight Aggregate Concrete

As the building energy saving becomes increasingly important nowadays, lightweight aggregate concrete has extensive application prospects for its light weight and well thermal insulating performance. However, there are some defects such as low strength and poor workability. Accession to the polymer can significantly improve workability, and to a certain extent improve mechanical properties and deformation properties and durability of the light weight aggregate concrete. In the present experiments discarded polystyrene foam particles and artificial ceramisite were used as mixed lightweight aggregate, using the method of polymer modification to study the capability of EPS-ceramisite mixed Lightweight Aggregate Concrete, thermal conductivity and the micro-structure of lightweight aggregate concrete. The results showed that the compressive strength of mixed Lightweight Aggregate Concrete has been improved, micro-structure became gradually denser, the porosity decreased, the thermal conductivity decreased, the durability of the concrete was also improved with the increase of polymer latex.
