Mechanical Analysis for Polymer Modified Concrete Permeable Base

A new kind of pavement base-Polymer Modified Concrete Permeable Base (PCPB for short) was proposed. It can reduce the pavement thickness of asphalt layer, prolong highways life-span, lower the strain in the pavement, improve the use quality of the road, but its mechanical mechanism is unclear yet. BISAR was applied in this paper to calculate the value of stress and strain in the pavement while the road under different vehicle loads, different thickness of PCPB, and different value of the PCPB module. Comparing the results with that in semi-rigid base, it is concluded that the PCPB can reduce the number of cracks and prolong the road service life and quality. By using the orthogonal experiment, it can obtain the best combination of PCPB can be obtained. ANSYS was applied to verify the superiority of the PCPB to the semi-rigid base in mechanical when it under vehicle loads.
