Modification of Cement Mortar Using Polymer Blend
A polymer blend was prepared by using thermosetting epoxy and styrene butadiene rubber. This blend was characterized by different techniques, including SEM analysis, tensile stress-strain and flexural stress-strain measurements. The results obtained allowed for certain conclusion regarding improvement in properties. In addition, developed blend was used with cement to prepare polymer modified mortar. The mechanical properties were subjected to three experimental test design viz. curing conditions, water absorption, compressive and flexural strength, which eventually enabled us to optimize the composition presenting the best mechanical behavior.
