Active Screen Plasma Nitriding-A Large Improvement of Plasma Nitriding Technology
This paper describes the active screen technology, the metallurgical results, the technical and economical advantages: low gas consumption, use of low cost and non toxic gases like hydrogen and nitrogen, no environmental impact as only non toxic gases are released. The degreasing of the parts to be nitrided has become easier. The process can be applied to numerous steels and alloys. Varied industrial applications is presented. ASPN is an environmentally clean process, without any dangers, reliable and the results are fully reproducible. It is a performing and economical process, which is the future alternative to replace processes like melted salts or ammonia.
