Effect of Heat Treatment on Microstructure and Mechanical Behavior of Fe-Mn-C TWIP Steel for Automotive Applications
Effect of annealing and solid solution heat treatments on microstructure and mechanical behavior of hot rolled Fe-22Mn-0.6C TWIP steel was investigated in this paper. It was found that the yield strength decreases greatly after such heat treatments. Ductility increases after annealing whereas decreases after solid solution. SEM-EBSD and OM results showed that the grain size varied greatly after different heat treatments, and the variation in yield stress and ductility mainly resulted from the effect of grain size. But the hardening behaviors of this steel with very different grain sizes after different heat treatments are similar.
