The Research of Micro Stamping Drived by Electromagnetic Force
In this paper, a new microforming device1, which is drived by electromagnetic force, has been manufactured for making the plasticity forming of microparts. A stamping test was carried out successfully with micron level parts. Extrusion and stamping processes were simulated by ANSYS finite element software in different processing speed and friction coefficient. The results successfully showed that this micro-forming device can process better quality and high accuracy parts. If the friction gets stronger, flowing of material will be non-uniform, and forming accuracy will also got down. Higher processing speed can significantly diminish the friction coefficient, so it can weaken size effect. It shows that the micro-forming system driven by electric magnetic force is very useful for micro-forming.
