Analysis of 3-D Thermal Field Distribution Inside A Railway Rail Body Under Low Frequency Induction Heating
In this paper, the induction heating of railway rails under track laying is presented and discussed. The finite element method (FEM) is used to approach electromagnetic-thermal coupling simulation. The thermal field distribution with time inside the rail during both heating and following cooling was analyzed depending on the heater location, frequency, environmental conditions and magnetic properties of the heating material as well.
