Evaluation Of Worn High Current Contacts During The Ezploitation
Contact overheating is a well-known failure mode occurring in nearly all types of power apparatus and components. The contacts inside gas insulated substation compartments cannot be inspected without opening the compartment. Conventional resistance measurements between contacts are of limited value because they cover a large number of contacts in series. The proposed diagnostic method is based on the well-known fact that poor contacts show a non-linear relationship between current and voltage, while good contacts do not. In the paper questions of evaluation of quality high current contacts during the exploitation on the example of worn high current contacts of the disconnector are presented.
