Simulation Study on Contacts Welding in Interruption Process of Current-Limiting MCCB

In order to study the fusion welding problem of contact in interruption process of current limiting MCCB, a numerical simulation method of three phase short-circuited interruption process is set up in this paper. Comparing with MHD Arc-molded simulation way, this paper describe Arc by controlled voltage source and take the condition of arc-splitting into consideration, thus, it enable to simulate the interruption process without limitation of current range and arc-chamber size. Applying this method, this paper study the principle and rule of contact fusion welding in the interruption process and explain the reason for that double-break MCCB is easier to fusion welding than single break MCCB.
