An Automatic Test System for the Protection and Communication Reliability of Intelligent Frame Circuit Breaker

An automatic test system used for high current test of frame circuit breaker is developed based on industrial computer and PLC. With dedicated fixtures, the tested breaker can be positioned and fixed on one time. An adjustable high current source can automatically generate 0~6000A practical testing electric current as needed. Such a current is fed into the primary circuits to test the reliability of frame breakers long delay protection and ground protection. The test function for breakers communication interface and protocol is also built in this system. Compared with present test methods and equipments, the system introduced in this paper has some merits such as high automation, standardization, efficiency and generality. It has been put into trial run and operates well in practice.
